Diecember with Simon Says Stamp + Videos!

It's one of the greatest times of the year and I am so thrilled to be celebrating with Simon Says Stamp Diecember! I have a few projects to share PLUS videos showcasing the new dies so be sure to stick around! All the supplies will be listed at the end of the post.

The first one I'm sharing is the NEW Tree Frame die. This creates such a detailed and elegant tree. You bet your buttons I have a video to share how I created this card!

You can view the video below or HERE on my Youtube Channel.

Since I'm sharing two projects in this post, I'm going to keep short on the details so be sure to watch the videos.

My background is ink blending with Distress Inks. This is a new combination for me and I adore how it turned out. I used Scattered Straw, Victorian Velvet, Seedless Preserve and Chipped Sapphire.  I flicked on Perfect Pearls for snow and sprayed the entire ink blended background with Glitter Dust

I also paired this with the Stitched Snowflakes that were released last year. My sentiment was created using the Merry die and Tiny Words Christmas sets.

My second card is quite cheerful! How fun is this Picture Book Panda?!

You can view the video down below or HERE on my Youtube Channel.

I kept with the traditional black/white panda but would look so adorable in a light purple or pink.

I used the Nested Heart die to create a window on the front of my card for the panda to peek through. Using the Really Rainbow paper pack makes this such a cheerful card!

My sentiment comes from the Besties stamp set and coordinating die

The new Tree Frame and Big Picture Book  Panda die are now available for purchase at Simon Says Stamp! Be sure to head over and grab them !

Mama Elephant Yeti Scene

Welcome back everyone! I just can't get over this adorable Yeti from Mama Elephant. My card today is creating a winter night time scene.

I'm using the stamp set Me & My Yeti from Mama Elephant. The first thing I do is create a mask for my moon. I used the Stackable Circles die and Simon Says Stamp Masking paper. I apply my circle mask to a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock measuring 4" x 5 1/4". Next, I ink blend Stormy Sky, Mermaid Lagoon, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot Distress ink. I build up my color keeping the darkest colors to the outside. Then I remove the mask and lightly go over the moon with Stormy Sky Distress Ink. To finish off the sky, I flick on some white paint with a paint brush for a snowy sky effect and spritz with Shimmer Spritz.

My images are stamped onto Neenah White carstock with MFT Extreme Black Ink then colored with copic markers. I like using the stippling technique for this which means I'm just adding dots to add color to my image. This also gives the look of texture and I think is a really fun look!

I also stamped the banner from Sentiments From a Yeti stamp set and used the coordinating die to cut it out. I added a hill to my sky background using a Stitched Hillside Die and White Glitter cardstock.  I tucked my trees behind the hill and added my Yeti to the front with foam tape. I layered my panel with white cardstock and added to a cardbase I created with Blue Denim Cardstock. For a little more sparkle, I added a Nuvo Shimmer Pen to the stars and then covered the stars with Crystalline Drops from Gina K Designs.

How sweet is it with the Yeti holding that banner?!

Copic Colors Used: B01, B00, B000, B0000, R21

Decorative Ornaments - Pretty Pink Posh

Welcome back everyone! I have a card to share today using the Decorative Ornaments stamp set from Pretty Pink Posh.

There is also an accompanying video you can view down below or HERE on my Youtube channel walking through how I created this card.

To start my card, I stamped my three ornaments in Simon Says Stamp Intense Black ink. I used my Misti tool to stamp my images which plays a key part in my technique for today. Once my images are stamped, I will leave my stamps on the Misti tool. Then I color my images with copic markers.

Once colored, I take my cardstock and put it back into the Misti. I ink up the images with Simon Says Stamp Clear Embossing Ink and heat emboss with Gold Embossing Powder. This gives my image a gorgeous gold outline. You don't really want to try and color with the lines embossed as that can ruin your markers and also the alcohol ink can eat away at the embossing powder. It's best to try and emboss after your color which is why the Misti tool plays such a huge part.

Once embossed, I die cut with the coordinating die. My background I stenciled on the English Brick Wall stencil with Pumice Stone Distress Oxide Ink.

The sentiment is from the Happy Snowman stamp set which I heat embossed with White Embossing Powder and then trimmed to a thin strip using the Sentiment Labels Die

I hope you enjoyed today's inspiration! If you are reading this on the day the card is posted be sure to head over to Pretty Pink Posh where they are having a Cyber Monday Sale!

Happy Brrrthday - The Birthday Project MFT

Welcome back everyone! I needed a birthday card for my brother before I head out to visit the family for Thanksgiving. This also fit right along with The Birthday Project challenge over at My Favorite Things.

My images are stamped from the Ready Set Snow stamp set onto Neenah white cardstock with MFT Extreme Black ink. Then colored with copic markers and cut out with the coordinating die.

I ink blended a background hoping to resemble the Northern Lights. I used Twisted Citron, Salty Ocean, Blueprint Sketch, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot Distress Oxide inks. Then splattered with white paint for a snowy effect. Once that was done, I sprayed the background with Iridescent Glitter Dust for lots of sparkle!

I die cut some slopes using the Stitched Hillside and Downhill Slope die. I added just a smidge of Tumbled Glass to the tops of the hills for some definition.

To finish off the card, I added the sentiment by stamping onto Blue Jay cardstock and white heat embossing. I die cut this using the Slanted Sentiments die and added to my card with a double layer of foam tape.

Mark this in the books that I made a birthday card! I need to make more. I hope you enjoyed today's card. If you are celebrating Thanksgiving, have a Happy Thanksgiving and if you are not celebrating this holiday, I hope you have an amazing weekend!

Save these images to Pinterst for future reference.

Christmas Ornaments - Lawn Fawn

Welcome back everyone! I have some fun Christmas tags to share with you today using goodies from Lawn Fawn.

I love making handmade gifts for teachers. I wanted to do something unique for all teachers and aids that work with my children and these ornaments are perfect.

I have a video walking you through the complete process that you can view down below or up on my Youtube Channel.

The main set that I'll be using to create these ornaments is the How U Bean stamp set and Add On.

I used a variety of stamp sets for my images including Simply Celebrate Winter, Say What Christmas Critters, Fairy Friends and Ready Set Snow.

A few of the ornaments I used pattern paper from the Really Rainbow Christmas paper pack and ink blended a few using Bristol cardstock and Distress Oxide inks.

A few of them I even added a small hill with Pixie Dust cardstock and a Stitched Hillside Border.

You could certainly turn these into shaker cards but I actually found I prefered it as a simple window ornament.

I forgot to take pictures of the back but I have a To and From stamped on the back so I can personalize it.

I finished them off by decorating the front with the Large Wreath die and some glitter cardstock.

Be sure to take a look at the VIDEO! I hope you enjoyed today's inspiration.

Old Fashioned Christmas - Gina K Design

Welcome back everyone! Today I'm sharing a card I had created for the November Release from Gina K Designs. Supplies will be listed down below

This is using the beautiful Old Fashioned Christmas stamp set. I had stamped my image onto Neenah Solar White cardstock with Amalgam Ink and colored with copic markers. Then used the coordinating die to cut it out.  I love the vintage truck!

For my background, I'm starting with a piece of Red Velvet cardstock. This is the perfect Christmas red. First, I heat embossed the sentiment at the bottom of the card using gold embossing powder. Next, I used the Falling Snow Stencil and adding the snow with white pigment ink. Once the ink was dry, I went over it with a variety of Nuvo drops including Silver Moondust, White Blizzard, Gloss White and Morning Dew.

I hope you enjoyed today's card. If you haven't picked up this stamp set yet from Gina K Designs be sure to head on over and grab it.

Beast Friends - My Favorite Things

Welcome back everyone! Today's card is playing along with the My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge 411

I finally broke down and ordered this adorable Yeti from the Beast Friends stamp set. I stamped my image onto Neenah Solar White cardstock with MFT Extreme Black Ink which is copic friendly. Then using the dot technique I colored in my image. The dot technique is where you can still use a 3-4 color blend but instead of blending, you add little dots. This helps add texture to your image.

Once colored, I die cut using the coordinating die. For my background, I am using a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock trimmed down to 4" x 5 1/4" and masked off a rectangle area. I ink blended Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry and Seedless Preserve Distress Oxide inks.

This fun sentiment is from the new Sassy Pants stamp set. I know it's not for everyone but I love these sentiments! I white heat embossed onto Black cardstock.

My panel is added to an A2 size notecard with craft foam for dimension.

I hope you enjoyed today's card. This Yeti is so much fun! Be sure to check out the sketch challenge. These are great to getting the creative mojo flowing.
