How to Create a Reveal Wheel- Lawn Fawn

Welcome everyone! Today's card is going to be creating a Reveal Wheel card with a beautiful sunset. Lots of pictures and Video included! Keep reading for some EXCITING NEWS!!

Lawn Fawn has some amazing new products out right now! Not only are they fun to make but they are fun to give to people. I made a few of these styles of cards for teachers and they loved them! Typically, when creating an interactive card, I will create a mock up first. So using scrap paper or even just white paper to get the feel of the design and where I should start.

For this card, I 'm going to start with ink blending. I'm going to use Bristol Smooth cardstock for my front panel because it blends the distress inks and oxide inks nicely. Starting at the top, I'll ink blend Fired Brick, Candied Apple, Spiced Marmalade and Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide ink. This panel I will diecut using the Reveal Wheel die. I will also cut out my Reveal Wheel back piece and wheel from just white cradstock.

While my inks were out, I will take another piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock and ink blend Cracked Pistachio and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide ink and diecut using the Stitched Waves die.

From here, I'm going to get all of my diecutting out of the way so I'll cut a circle from Sunflower cardstock with the Stitched Circle Die. This will create my sun. I will also diecut a piece of Paper Bag cardstock with the Stitched Hillside Die. This will create my sand for my front panel. I can go ahead and trim down my sand and waves to fit my front panel and figure out how I want them arranged on the card.

Before I add any adhesive, I'm going to stamp the bird silhouettes from the Life Is Good stamp set in embossing ink and heat emboss in black embossing powder. I will do the same for the sentiment above my Reveal Wheel window.

I'm going to add my sentiments to my wheel using the Reveal Wheel sentiments stamp set. At this point, I can go ahead and assemble my Reveal Wheel. All that's left to do are my images.

I'm going to using the palm trees from the Life Is Good stamp set. I will stamp two trees onto Neenah White cardstock 80 lb with Lawn Fawn Black ink which is copic friendly. Once I finished some simple copic coloring, I can go ahead and diecut them from the coordinating die set. Now I can add my palm tress to my beach scene. Spin the wheel and you can see all these amazing sentiments!

I hope you give the Reveal Wheel a try! They are really a blast to create and can't wait to do more!

Here is a process video you can view down below or HERE on my Youtube channel.

Summer Fun - C.C. Designs

Happy Monday! Today I'm sharing this fun set from C.C. Designs called Summer Fun. This was part of the June release and has so many great elements for scene building.

I'm going to start my card by creating the background. I'll use a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock and ink blend Crack Pistachio, Mermaid Lagoon and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide ink. Then spritz with water and dab with a paper towel. I only ink blend on half of the cardstock.

Next, I'm going to take a piece of Neenah Solar white cardstock and cut off one side with the Winter Borders die. This will leave room for my blended background. I can then attach my white panel on top of the blended background.

My images are stamped onto Neenah white cardstock with copic safe ink. Then I'll color with copic markers and use the coordinating die to cut them out. I'll add my images to the side blended border with a tape runner.

This fun sentiment is also from the Summer Fun set. I love how it creates a scene just on the one side of the card.

Apologies I didn't write down the copic colors for this one. I do have a board you can save to your Pinterest for easy reference.

Release Day - C.C. Designs

Welcome back! It's time for the release with C.C. Designs! I have one more card to inspire you today and I'm using the new set Merkini! She is this beautiful mermaid which I couldn't wait to color up !

I decided on creating a mostly one layer card. I stamped my image onto Neenah white cardstock with copic friendly ink. My entire card is colored in with copic markers including the background.

To create the bokeh effect, I first colored the background with BG32. Then I used some Simon Says Stamp white ink and added some of that white ink to my blending tool. When applying this ink to my card, I took the tool to my background, pushed down lightly and twisted in a circle. I did the same thing using a small dauber. This gives me those circles around my mermaid. I wiped away any excess and let dry.

Once my background was dry, I diecut it from a stitched frame diecut and added to an A2 size notecard.

There are so many fun summer scenes that she could be added to!

Preview Day 3 - Summer Fun C.C. Designs

Hey everyone!! On to day 3 of previews with C.C. Designs with another fantastic set! This one is called Summer Fun and you'll be able to see why!

This set if full of amazing images for building a fun underwater scene! I used quite a few of them for my card today. My images are stamped onto Neenah white cardstock 80lb with a copic safe ink. Then colored with copic markers. I used the coordinating dies to cut all my pieces out. I am really loving the having the matching dies for my images lately as my Big Shot is always on my desk anyway.

For my background, I ink blended a panel of Bristol Smooth cardstock with Cracked Pistachio, Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide ink. Then spritzed with water and dabbed with a paper towel for the water droplets effect. I then ran this ink blended background through my die cut machine using a Stitched Woodgrain coverplate and also a stitched waves border die. This created a perfect underwater scene.

For the top portion of my card, I again used Bristol Smooth cardstock and lightly ink blended the top portion with Fossilized Amber and Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide ink. Then laid the Radiating Rays Stencil on top and added the same colors but applying more pressure.

Once my background was complete, I could add my adorable little images. Be sure to head to the C.C. Design blog for more inspiration and chances to win prizes. Release is tomorrow!!

Preview Day 1 Hello Goodbye- C.C. Designs

Happy Monday!! Today is pretty exciting as it's the start of previews for the C.C. Designs June release!! Yippeee!!! There is some cute stuff so be sure to head over to the C.C. Designs blog after you are done here so you can see all the inspiration and giveaways!!

My card today is featuring this awesome alligator! (see what I did there?) hee hee This alligator is from the new Hello Goodbye Clear Stamp set. These characters are crazy cool ( I did it again!) and the sentiments ... forget about it ! So adorable !

I'm going to start by prepping my background. I'm using a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock because it's awesome for ink blending. I'm going to lightly lay down a layer of Twisted Citron Distress Oxide ink. Then I'll add the Dimensional Triangle Stencil on top and add in some Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide ink. Spritz with water, dab and viola! Fabulous background ready to go!

The amazing alligator is stamped onto Neenah white cardstock with copic safe ink. Neenah is my personal preference of cardstock but you can use whatever heart desires that works with copic markers. Then I'll color in my image and die cut out with the coordinating die set.

Did you check out that fun sentiment!? Yep - that is off the Hello Goodbye stamp set too. I stamped it onto Noble Fir cardstock with Simon Says Stamp clear ink. This is a sticky ink that is great for heat embossing which is exactly what I"m going to do. I'll emboss it with white embossing powder which really pops off the dark green cardstock. I also use the Noble Fir cardstock as my base which is an A2 size card. I thought it really pulled the greens together.

I'll go ahead and diecut the sentiment with the Banners die and finish attaching my elements together to create this fun card.

**TIP** You could also cut this sentiment stamp apart to have the front read "See You Later Alligator" and the inside say "After While Crocodile". How fun would that be?! OR ..... you could mask the sentiment too to separate it.

This is just day 1 of previews from C.C. Designs so be sure to visit the BLOG to check out what else is in store. Release goes LIVE on June 7th at 12pm Central time.

What do you think of my new color boards I've been creating? Do you like them? Find them handy? I've broken down the colors for the main elements of my image.
