Mother's Day Cards - Adding Texture

Today's cards were inspired by the texture challenge going on over at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge blog. Texture? Absolutely!

It's really hard to capture the beauty of these cards on camera but I tried. I'm using one of the new stencils from Simon Says Stamp called New Beginnings. It's so gorgeous! I used the Nuvo Glimmer Paste Moonstone and added it to my white and Sandy Beach cardstock. Make sure to rinse off the stencil right away before it dries.

I'm also using the new Bold Mom die. I originally cut out for two cards using just black cardstock. These letters are 3 layers high to create dimension on my card. Once I started playing with what cardstock I was going to use I cut out another MOM from white cardstock and just added it to the top. I didn't want to waste all the time I spent creating the first one.

I used a Xyron sticker maker to adhere all my letters together. I think a spray adhesive would probably be more handy ..... if I had some. I also used the sticker maker to add the words to a diecut piece of Vellum.

For my card bases, I layered up black cardstock with some new Sea Glass cardstock from Gina K Designs. Then added my textured panel using some double sided tape.

For my second card, I layered white cardstock with some new Plum Punch cardstock also from Gina K Designs which is why I switched my MOM to white cardstock to match the layer.

I heat embossed with white embossing powder my fun and sassy sentiment from the CZ Design Emphatic Sentiment stamp set onto the matching cardstock.

My Bold MOM is adhered to the cards using Nuvo Deluxe adhesive. I let it sit a few minutes with some blocks ontop to really make it stick. I even checked the next day, and that die cut word isn't moving. I was really impressed given it's on the texture. My sentiment strips are adhered down with some double sided tape which also seems to be holding up well.

I love the two different looks this glimmer paste has one the cardstocks and I know my Mom and my Mom-In-Law will get a big kick out of these cards.

Hope you enjoyed them! I have a process video you can view down below or HERE on my Youtube channel.
