Galaxy Flowers - Simon Says Stamp

Hey everyone! Today's card was inspired by the Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge which is ink blending and I love me some ink blending!

I've had this idea in my head for a while to create galaxy flowers and/or flowers with a galaxy background so... I created both!

For my first card, I'm using some Bristol Smooth cardstock and ink blending Wilted Violet and Twisted Citron Distress Oxide Ink. Then I fill in the white space with some Blueprint Sketch distress oxide and top it off with Black Soot Distress oxide. I'm spritzing on some water that I'll dab up with a paper towel for the water splotches. Then I'll mix some white paint and white and flick that on to help create the galaxy feel.

For the flowers, I'm using Even More Spring Flowers stamp set that I stamp onto white cardstock and cut out with my Scan n Cut machine but there is a coordinating die to go with this set. I also decided to add a little bit of shading with a W3 and W4 copic marker just to separate the white a little. The die cut Ya Da Best I cut out from some glitter cardstock and the shadow piece from vellum which I'll attach to my galaxy background with Nuvo Deluxe adhesive. My leaves are attached right to the card and the flower is popped up with foam squares. I love putting unique twists on things and this card came out just like I envisioned! I wasn't real happy with how the Twisted Citron looked so I covered it up with the flowers.

As I was editing the video for the galaxy background, it hit me to make the flowers galaxy so since all my supplies were still out that is what I did. I think I like this card better which I may say multiple times lol.

To start this card out, I still use the Bristol Smooth cardstock to do the ink blending but this time I'm using Lucky Clover and Picked Raspberry. Then add the Blueprint Sketch and Black Soot distress oxide. I'll also add my flickers of water and white paint.

I'll line up my flower and leaves onto the ink blended background and stamp with Versafine black ink which is a really nice dark ink but takes a little longer to dry. Then I'll fussy cut these out since I didn't trust running it through the Scan n Cut machine.

I used white for my cardbase, added a mat of black cardstock and attached another white panel. I'm using the same die except this time I'm cutting the words out of black cardstock of which I'll top off with a Shimmer pen for sparkle. This fun sentiment is from the Emphatic Stamp set. I adore this stamp set as it has a lot of fun greetings on it.

This was a lot of fun and I hope you'll give it a try! Imagine all the different combos you could create with ink blending and then just stamping the floral images on them!

I also have a video showing you the entire process of these cards that you can view down below or on my youtube channel. Hope you'll check it out !
