Book Dragon Bookmark - Kraftin Kimmie Stamps

I have a fun gift idea for you today for those kids heading back to school! This is a super cool bookmark I created using the stamp Book Dragon from Kraftin Kimmie Stamps! It is the perfect size!

I also have a color along video for the dragon down below.

I stamped my image on Neenah White Cardstock and colored it with copic markers. Once it was completely colored, I cut it out with my Scan and Cut machine. For the bookmark, I cut a piece of patterned paper to 2 1/4" x 5 3/4" and attached it to a piece of white cardstock measuring 2 1/2" x 6". I rounded the corners of both pieces before adhering then together.

I attached the dragon and sentiment to the bookmark and ran it through my laminator. This will be my daughter's bookmark so I need it to survive middle school! I poked a couple holes with my Crop-a-dile and attached some yarn that I had handy.

I do no claim to be a professional at coloring with copics – this is just how I like to color and my process for it. I try to apply some theory behind my coloring but it most cases … it’s a mix of theory and just what I think look good to me.

I start with my darkest color first and I’ll work my way down to the lightest, blending those out. Sometimes I’ll go back over the areas I’ve colored and this can start to desaturate that depth which is one of the reasons why I go over them again in the same order.

Together - Neat & Tangled

Normally you see my cards with something on it that is copic colored ... but not this time. I decided to step away from the copics ... but not the Oxides ! haha!

I created this simple but stunning card using the new Neat & Tangled Together stamp and die.

The background is created with ink blending Candied Apple, Abandoned Coral and Picked Raspberry Distress Oxides.

I cut the script word Together from some beautiful gold cardstock I had purchased from My Favorite Things and the background in black cardstock. Tweezers come in very handy when adhering these together.

I used some foam squares to give the word a little dimension and finished it off with some Pixie Dust sequins. I also have a video on this card down below. I hope you enjoy it!

Sea Jewels - Kraftin Kimmie Challenge

It's time for another challenge over at Kraftin Kimmie Stamps! Today is water challenge! Of course I absolutely HAD to use the new (old) Sea Jewels set. This is a re-release from Kraftim Kimmie stamps and I adore it ! I mean.... who doesn't love mermaids?!

Be sure to check out the Kraftim Kimmie Blog for more details on entering the challenge and chance to win some goodies - plus there is soooo much going on this weekend - you don't want to miss out !

I decided to try something a little different for my card today. I'm sure this has been around a while but last week was the first time I've seen something like it ... so .... I hit up youtube to figure it out haha! I created a water (gel) card. Soooooo cool in person. Great interactive card!

I started by coloring up my mermaid. There are actually 3 mermaids on this set and I chose the one sitting down - I thought she would work well with my "water" window. I used my copics and cut it out with my Scan n Cut.
Next, I started my card. The part in the middle is actually a small jewelry type of ziploc bag filled with hand sanitizer and some sequins mix. Cool right?! I cut a window from some patterned paper and white cardstock. The patterned paper wasn't real thick that is why I cut the rectangle frame from both and glued them together for my window.

I laid my bag down where it will go and added foam tape around the bag and the rest of the paper. I adhered this to another piece of patterned paper with fishes on it. Then my little baggie just slides in and I taped the little extra part of the top down behind that was sticking out . The rest is just matting the card up and adding a sentiment. For some fun.... I also added some Nuvo Jewel Drops Sea Breeze.

Schoolhouse - Neat & Tangled

School is right around the corner! I have another fun card that I plan to give to a teacher this year. This one is using the Schoolhouse stamp set from Neat & Tangled. Can you tell I love this set?!

I created my own background paper with it. If you follow me on Instagram you already had a sneak peak of it but here it is applied to a card. Took a little while to color up everything but totally worth it I think!

Super simple to create - it's just the coloring that takes a little while. Everything is colored with my copic markers and I will those listed down below. The sentiment is also from this stamp set that I just added to a strip of black cardstock to break it up a little.

For a finishing touch, I added some Nuvo Red Berry and Gloss White.

One in a Chameleon - Your Next Stamp

I have another fun one to share today! I decided to get a little creative on this one. When I think of chameleons, I think of how they change their colors.

I took a piece of  Neenah White Cardstock and started smooshing a few different oxide colors together. I used Faded Denim, Peacock Feathers and Salty Ocean. Once that was dry, I stamped my image right on top and cut it out with my Scan n Cut which I was surprised worked out well. I used a white gel pen to color in the eyes just to give some distinction. Although I really missed coloring this image up with my copics - I love how it turned out!

For the background - honestly - I didn't want to take away from all the work I put into the actual image so I left everything white!

Magical Day - Masking with Neat & Tangled

The days are just flying by - don't you agree? Before we know it, school will be back in session and let me tell you ... I will be ready to give out some cards to the teachers !

Today I'm sharing a card I made for the Neat & Tangled monthly challenge - Masking. Now ... masking is NOT my favorite technique because it usually means I have to fussy cut haha! And you all know how I love my Scan n Cut machine ! But ..... I do find it a beautiful technique!

I created a mask for my unicorn (spirit animal ha!) using the Inkadinkado Masking Paper. I stamped my image onto my Neenah White Cardstock and added my mask on top.

Next I put a strip of the same masking paper on the top and bottom of my cardstock. I typically use my painters tape but sometimes it rips the paper and I thought "hey! you have masking paper!" ... so I used that and it worked perfectly!

I left the small strip through the middle and had my unicorn sticking out the top. Then I blended Abandoned Coral, Wild Honey and Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide inks.

Once I removed my masking strips, I started coloring the unicorn with my copic markers. I was going off an image in my head of the beautiful all white unicorns like I used to collect figures of.... I don't know if I did it justice but I sure tried! For a finishing touch, I added some Pink Lemonade & Pixie Dust Sequins Mix.

I hope you enjoyed today's card and it inspired you to create!

Happy Hello and welcome back to another Wonderful Wednesday challenge with Kraftin Kimmie Stamps! Be sure to head over to the Kraftin Kimmie Blog to check out all the details for your chance and winning some free stamps! We all like those chances right??!

For my card today, I dipped into fall a little... it is my favorite season! I kept it a pretty simple shaker card. I cut out my words from cardstock with my Happy Greetings Die and used craft foam to create the actual shaker to put behind it. I just cut out a rectangle where the words were.

My little gnome and mushrooms I colored up with copic markers and cut out with my Scan n Cut. Then I just placed them around my sentiment.

Oh this release was so super amazing!!! I actually have a couple cards to share today  - they were just too much fun! I'll keep the descriptions short and sweet!

For this first one, I'm using one of the super cute Lumberjack Guys with the Lumberjack coordinating sentiments. I stenciled in a background with the Grid Stencil and Fired Brick Distress Oxide and added him on top with foam squares. All supply lists will be listed below at the end of the post.

Sweet, Sweet Swiss Pixie Rockabilly Abigail is up next! She is fabulous and lots of fun to color up. She is colored in copic markers and cut out with my Scan n Cut. The background is cut out on white cardstock with the Circle Cut & Stitch Die and I added a sentiment from the new Rockabilly Sentiments set.

Check out this little sweetheart! She kind of reminds me a mini-Daisy Duke haha! I kept this card real simple as I thought she said it all! I colored her with copic markers and cut out with the Scan n Cut as well. I just added a small strip of patterned paper at the bottom and my sentiment from the Rockabilly sentiments. Today's project is a cute little treat bag I made. It's never too early to start making little gift bags for the teachers when school starts up.

I die cut the Scallop Caddy die with Papertry Ink Cardstock. I like their cardstock because it's 110lbs... nice and sturdy for treats! I added some matting to the front and sentiment stamped on a flag banner.

My image is the adorable Teacup Fairy that I colored up with my copic markers and cut out with my Scan n Cut. This little bag will be great to add some flavored water mixes or teabags.

Sunny Stamp Set - The Greeting Farm

Happy Hello! Today is my last Guest post for The Greeting Farm. It has been so wonderful and such a privilege to be guest designing for them this month. I absolutely adore their sets! Please see to the end of the post for a coloring and process video.

For today's post, I am using this sweet little image from the Sunny set. It is an absolute MUST HAVE! So many adorable images for a great price! I have an extra little bonus for you and that is a process video for today's card. So be sure to keep reading!

I colored my image up with copic markers on Neenah white solar cardstock. Using my Scan n Cut, I cut out my image.

To create my background, I'm using the Circle Burst Stencil and distress oxides for a super fun look! I cut  it out with my Blueprint 29 die to give it a stitched edge look and stamped my sentiment on using Memento Black Tuxedo Ink.

I adhered the stenciled background onto my card base using some craft foam for a dimensional look. I also used some foam squares to attach my adorable colored image. For a finishing touch, I added some Nuvo Morning Dew Drops.

I hope you enjoyed today's card! Please see below for the process video!

Distress Oxides, Stencil & Copic Coloring - My Favorite Things

Happy Hello and welcome back to Monday! I'm kicking off today with a card for Simon Says Stamp Challenge and a new video!

The theme of the challenge was to use products from My Favorite Things and "seeing stars". The  first thing that comes to mind is a night time sky BUT instead I envisioned a sunset type of sky. I love when you can start seeing the moon and stars before it even  gets dark.

I created my background on Bristol smooth cardstock using Wild Honey, Picked Raspberry and Seedless Preserve distress oxide. I stenciled in some stars using the Starry Sky Vertical Stencil and Wild Honey distress oxide. Using the Blueprint 29 die I cut out my stitched border. I took a spare piece of Bristol Smooth and layered it with Twisted Citron, Peeled Paint and Mowed Lawn distress inks. I then cut a few tress from it using the Christmas Tree Die.

I used this sweet little elephant and hot air balloon from the Up In The Air stamp set. There are so many cute images on this set it was hard to choose ! I colored them with copic markers and cut out with my Scan n Cut machine.  I added my trees to the bottom and cut off the excess and added a couple clouds to the background before adhering my hot air balloon on. For a little dimension I used some craft foam behind my background. Finishing touches of course are the Nuvo Crystal Morning Dew Drops.

MFT Sketch Challenge - Mermazing!

Happy Hello everyone!! For today's card I'm playing along with the sketch challenge over at My Favorite Things.

I've been itching to color up this adorable stamp set called Mermazing. I colored her up with my copic markers and cut out with my Scan n Cut.

For my background, I added some cloud using the MFT Cloud Stencil with Peacock Feathers distress oxide ink. I was excited to try out my new waves die from MFT too! For the waves, I distressed a piece of cardstock with Peacock Feathers and Salty Ocean distress Oxide ink and lightly spritzed it with water for the water spot look.
Then I used my waves die to cut the waves at the top. I stamped some cute little fishies here and there just for fun using Faded Denim distress ink! To try and match the sketch, I ran my cardstock with the clouds on it through my Big Shot using the Blueprint 29 die. That gives it the stitched edge. THEN I took that piece and  the same die and I placed the die crooked at the top so it cut out that angle just  at the top.

I adhered it all to an A2 size cardstock base keeping all my pieces together. The sentiment is stamped on the fishtail die and my sweet mermaid is popped up with foam squares.
